How do I troubleshoot a fire damper that won't drop during a drop test

Inspect the external damper sleeve and interior blade channel tracks for any accidental tek screw penetrations driven in too deep by the installation crew. * Check for any thick accumulations of hardened mastic sealant or drywall dust packing inside the track groove rails. Clean out the track using a wire brush, spray it lightly with an approved dry-lubricant (never wet grease that catches dust), and replace any twisted or deformed link hardware components.
