Standards & Code Lookup

Use this page to know what kind of source controls the question. TinnerFlow does not reproduce paid standards or code books. It points you to what to verify and helps you ask the right question before touching the work.

What to Verify

Start with the approved drawings and specs. Then verify the exact standard, code, manufacturer instruction, and local amendment that applies to your job.

Red-Zone Question Builder

For rated assemblies, rigging, structural attachment, grease duct, controls, unknown utilities, and code/AHJ topics, do not ask “what do I do?” Ask with facts.

1. Name the Control Point

“The drawing shows ___, the field condition is ___, and I think the controlling detail might be ___.”

2. Ask the Exact Next Step

“Do you want me to hold, photo it, write an RFI note, call the detail out, or install it this way?”

3. Say What You Will Not Touch

“I am not cutting/drilling/moving this until the sleeve, support, clearance, rated wall, or manufacturer detail is verified.”
