Vibration Isolator Clearance
Equipment isolators need room to move. If duct, curb, piping, or structure binds the equipment, the isolator cannot do its job.
Stop if
- Is this duct connection allowing the isolator to move, or are we hard-locking the equipment?
Watch out
- Do not hard-connect duct so it bypasses the vibration isolation. Do not use ductwork to brace equipment unless detailed.
Check
- Isolator spring/rubber clearance, flexible connectors, housekeeping pad/curb, and whether duct is independently supported.
