Equipment is landing on curb and something looks wrong
During the last few inches, stay clear of pinch points and call out alignment, gasket, opening, or rotation problems before the unit is fully landed.
Stop if
- The unit looks offset/rotated as it is landing. Do you want to hold the pick and verify before it sets fully?
Watch out
- Do not reach under a suspended unit, and do not stay quiet if the unit is clearly landing wrong.
Check
- Stay out of pinch points
- never put fingers between unit and curb.
- Watch for rotation, offset, hung-up curb edges, crushed gasket, or trapped debris.
- Confirm supply/return openings are lining up as the unit settles.
- Check roof membrane and curb damage after landing.
- Tell foreman before final fastening, duct tie-ins, gas/electrical, or controls continue.
