Check the architectural layout layouts to see which way the access doors will face. Route your main sheet metal trunk lines, branches, and large structural hangers so they stay at least 36 inches clear of the side of the VAV box enclosure containing the electrical access panel and motor assembly. Do not wrap heavy hangers directly across an access panel door cover.

Ask Foreman

Hey boss, I’m checking trade coordination: How do I route ductwork so I don't block access to VAV control panels? I found the likely issue and want to verify the next step before I lock it in. Do you want me to adjust it now or check the drawing/detail first?

Verify before acting
