Set up a heavy-duty engineered rigging beam or hoist bracket system on the roof or top floor deck level. Assemble the duct segments in sequential vertical order from the bottom floor up.
Connect each new piece at the top opening and slowly lower the growing vertical stack down into the shaft using a heavy-duty material hoist or crane winch, securing structural intermediate riser clamps at every floor landing as you go.
Use this as training guidance. The foreman, approved drawings, project specs, manufacturer installation instructions, employer safety policy, and AHJ/code requirements always control the final answer.
