1. Hook the feet of the duct stretcher over the raw end-flanges of the two unjoined rectangular ducts. 2. Slowly pull the lever down to draw the two sections together tightly. 3. Make sure the ducts are aligned perfectly straight before hammer-tapping the drive cleat over the joint. If the stretcher pulls unevenly, it will warp the metal edge, and the drive won't slide on.
