Install guide
Spiral pipe connections
Fit the pipe without collapsing the bead, over-crimping the end, or using screws to pull a bad connection together.

Field sequence
- Verify diameter, fitting direction, seam orientation, and hanger location.
- Check the male end or crimp. It should enter without crushing or folding.
- Seat the pipe to the bead or required insertion depth while keeping the run straight.
- Rotate the seam and screws where they can be accessed and will not interfere with insulation or finish.
- Install the approved number and type of fasteners evenly around the connection.
- Seal the joint using the project-required method.
- Support the run so the connection is not carrying the weight or being pulled apart.
Stop and get direction when
The sizes do not match, the fitting is out of round, the bead is damaged, the run must be forced around an obstruction, or the sealing/fastening requirement is unknown.
Say this
“I checked the diameter and the fitting is still out of round at [location]. It will not seat to the bead without crushing it. Do you want it replaced or field-corrected?”
Before you leave it
- Joint is fully seated.
- Pipe remains round.
- Fasteners are evenly placed.
- Seal is complete.
- Hangers carry the run, not the joint.
