What do I do when stainless screws, nuts, or bolts are required on duct supports?

Hanger Systems, Rods, Straps, Trapeze & AnchorsHigh-risk field starter — stainless hardware / anti-seize

Use the stainless hardware type/grade required by the project, not just whatever stainless is on the cart. Stainless fasteners can gall or seize, so use the approved anti-seize/thread lubricant when directed.

Ask foreman

Do you want stainless hardware here, what grade/type is required, and should I use approved anti-seize before tightening?

Do not

Do not dry-run stainless threads under load, force cross-threaded hardware, or assume anti-seize makes the assembly corrosion-proof.

Why it matters

Stainless hardware can resist some corrosion conditions, but stainless threads are prone to galling if installed wrong.
