The shop sent the wrong fitting or elbow and the duct run is stopped
TDC, Ductmate, Flanges & Gasketsyellow
Do not field-modify the wrong fitting first. Stop the run, document the mismatch, measure what is needed, and bring the foreman a clear replace/adjust decision.
Photograph the fitting label/shape next to the drawing or shop detail.
Measure the needed angle, size, connection type, and face-to-face condition.
Check if another staged fitting belongs there.
Ask before cutting down or modifying the wrong piece.
Ask foreman
The fitting staged for [location] is a [what it is], but the drawing/detail shows [what is needed]. I measured [size/angle/connection]. Do you want a replacement, field modification, or a different route?
Do not
Do not make a 90 into a 45, force a wrong part, or keep building a run that depends on an unapproved field change.
Why it matters
Wrong staged material is a coordination/shop issue. The best apprentice move is clean documentation, not improvising the shop solution alone.
