Wrong offset direction because plan is rotated
Confirm offset direction against the building orientation before marking. A rotated plan can make left/right look backwards.
Stop if
- This plan is rotated. Which way does the offset move in the field?
Watch out
- Do not lay out an offset until you know which way it moves in the real building.
Check
- Orient the plan to grid/room/field.
- Mark the start point and direction of move.
- Check airflow and elevation.
- Use a sketch/arrow on the piece if needed.
- Ask if plan rotation is confusing.
