Wrong fasteners for flange/corner

Use the approved corner and flange hardware for that connector system. Get the duct supported, level, square, and aligned first; the hardware holds the joint together-it is not a tool for pulling a crooked run straight.

Stop if

Ask when connector type, gasket, cleat/bolt schedule, pressure class, or manufacturer detail is unclear.

Watch out

Do not substitute random fasteners or use corners, bolts, screws, drift pins, or clamps to force a twisted, crooked, or unsupported joint together.

Check

Identify the TDC/TDF or Ductmate system and check the approved hardware/detail.
Place gasket on one flange face only and bring the joining duct in level and supported.
Install the corners on the joining duct
they do not need to look picture-perfect, but the duct faces must align.
Use drift pins for close corner-hole alignment and C-clamps/locking clamps to hold flange faces while hardware starts.
If flange cleats are unavailable, ask and verify before using 5/16 self-tappers in the flange.
