What do I check for finish work: ceiling grid and t-bar awareness?

Finish duct work has to respect the ceiling grid. A diffuser that fits the duct but fights the T-bar is still a problem.

Stop if

• Is this grid layout final, and should I set this air device by the RCP, the tile center, or the foreman layout marks?

Watch out

• Stop if the grid is not final, a ceiling conflict exists, or the device would block access to another trade's required component.

Check

• Verify the tile size and grid direction.
• Confirm diffuser orientation before cutting or dropping tile.
• Check above-ceiling clearance for box, flex, damper handle, and insulation.
• Do not rest unsupported weight on ceiling grid unless the detail allows it.
• Keep tiles clean and replace damaged tiles per site direction.
