What do I check for finish work: ceiling grid and t-bar awareness?
Finish duct work has to respect the ceiling grid. A diffuser that fits the duct but fights the T-bar is still a problem.
Stop if
- Is this grid layout final, and should I set this air device by the RCP, the tile center, or the foreman layout marks?
Watch out
- Stop if the grid is not final, a ceiling conflict exists, or the device would block access to another trade's required component.
Check
- Verify the tile size and grid direction.
- Confirm diffuser orientation before cutting or dropping tile.
- Check above-ceiling clearance for box, flex, damper handle, and insulation.
- Do not rest unsupported weight on ceiling grid unless the detail allows it.
- Keep tiles clean and replace damaged tiles per site direction.
