Vibration Isolation at Fans and Air-Handling Equipment
Keep the equipment isolated from rigid duct, piping, conduit, and supports exactly as the approved detail shows.
Stop if
- Can we verify the isolator setup and every possible vibration bridge before this fan or air handler is started?
Watch out
- Do not hard-connect the duct, bottom out springs, remove shipping restraints early, or add supports that bypass the isolators.
Check
- Identify the isolator type and equipment weight/orientation
- Check spring or pad position and travel
- Verify flexible duct connection and slack
- Look for rigid bridges from conduit, piping, curb, or supports
- Confirm shipping restraints are handled per manufacturer direction
