Using damaged Ductmate corner piece

Replace a bent, cracked, or badly distorted Ductmate corner before final assembly. The corner may look a little rough, but it still has to seat and let the duct faces align level and square.

Stop if

Ask when connector type, gasket, cleat/bolt schedule, pressure class, or manufacturer detail is unclear.

Watch out

Do not beat a damaged corner into submission or use it to pull a crooked flange joint together.

Check

Compare the corner with an undamaged matching piece.
Check that it seats on the joining duct and that the bolt hole is usable.
Confirm gasket on one flange face is protected and continuous.
Bring both sections in supported and aligned
use drift pins/clamps only for close alignment and holding.
Replace the corner if it cannot seat without beating or forcing.
