The duct leakage test failed and I need to find the leak
Switch from “seal everything” to a leak investigation. Start at joints and openings, then corners, access doors, collars, flex connections, seams, and damaged gasket areas.
Stop if The leakage test failed on [section]. I found suspected leaks at [locations]. Do you want these repaired with [approved method] before retest?
Watch out Do not bury bad fit-up under mastic or randomly smear every joint without finding the actual leak path.
Check Ask what test section failed and what pressure/limit applies. Walk from fan/test connection outward by joint. Check corners, access doors, takeoffs, flex collars, flange gaskets, mastic skips, screw holes, and damaged metal. Mark suspected leaks and repair only approved locations/methods. Recheck before retest.
