TDC gasket keeps falling out during lift

Restage the joint before bolting. Keep the gasket seated and continuous with an approved tack/adhesive method or second person watching the gasket line.

Stop if

• The gasket keeps falling out during the lift. Do you want tack/adhesive, a second hand, or different staging?

Watch out

• Do not bolt over a rolled or displaced gasket.

Check

• Clean flange face.
• Dry-fit gasket while low.
• Use approved tack/adhesive only if allowed.
• Have helper watch gasket during lift.
• Recheck full gasket before tightening.
