The curb supports the rooftop unit, aligns supply/return openings, seals weather, and affects service and startup. If the curb is wrong, the RTU can leak, misalign, vibrate, or become impossible to service.
Curb, gasket, opening, unit hand, service clearance, and roof warranty all meet in one expensive rectangle.
