Roof Curb to RTU Duct Connection
The duct connection through a roof curb has to match the RTU opening, curb adapter, gasket, and weather seal.
Stop if
- RTU curb openings do not match cleanly. Do we verify the curb adapter/model before cutting or sealing anything?
Watch out
- Do not cut the curb or unit base in the field without approved direction.
Check
- Verify unit model, curb adapter, supply/return orientation, gasket/seal, and shop drawing opening sizes.
Steps
- Identify whether this is normal ductwork or a controlled/special condition.
- Verify unit model, curb adapter, supply/return orientation, gasket/seal, and shop drawing opening sizes.
- Get the current drawing/detail/spec/submittal before changing routing, material, access, or support.
- Bring photos, location, and what you checked to the foreman before closing or covering the work.
