The mechanical plan shows air distribution. The reflected ceiling plan shows ceiling grid, lights, speakers, access panels, sprinklers, and architectural layout. You need both to avoid ugly or conflicting finish work.
A diffuser that works mechanically can still fail visually if it is not centered, aligned, or coordinated.
