Not vacuuming metal chips before handoff
Clean metal chips before handoff. Chips left in duct, on roof/floor, or above ceiling become rust, noise, punctures, or punchlist items.
Watch out
- Do not leave chips because they are small.
Check
- Vacuum or wipe chips from duct interior/exterior.
- Check roof membrane, ceiling grid, finished floors, and insulation.
- Remove chips from collars and dampers before connecting.
- Recheck after drilling overhead.
