Not tying off tools or securing loose items on lift
Secure loose tools and small parts before moving or raising a lift. Anything loose can become a dropped-object hazard.
Stop if
- Do we need tool lanyards or a controlled area for this overhead work?
Watch out
- Do not set tools on lift rails or duct where vibration or movement can knock them off.
Check
- Keep tools inside bags/bins when moving.
- Use lanyards when required.
- Do not balance screws, bits, or tools on rails.
- Check platform floor before raising.
- Warn people below before overhead work starts.
