Not laying out square cut before saw/snips
Layout the cut square before you cut. A crooked opening makes the fitting fight you and usually leaks or looks bad.
Stop if
- Can you verify this layout before I cut? I want the opening square and in the right location.
Watch out
- Do not cut a hole from a rough Sharpie guess.
Check
- Mark the opening with a square/template, not freehand guessing.
- Check takeoff orientation and airflow direction before cutting.
- Measure twice from a verified reference point.
- Stop if your marks do not match the fitting.
