Missing duct stretcher/clamps for rectangular alignment

If rectangular duct will not align, get the stretcher, C-clamps, locking clamps, or drift pins before the joint gets damaged. Use them to hold alignment, not to force a wrong or twisted piece.

Stop if

• Do you want the duct stretcher, C-clamps, or drift pins here, or is this piece wrong/out of square?

Watch out

• Do not beat, pry, over-clamp, or drive a pin until the flange bends, gasket crushes, or seam opens.

Check

• Check if the duct is out of square or wrong size.
• Use duct stretcher, C-clamps, locking clamps, or drift pins where appropriate.
• Protect corners, flanges, gasket, and finished faces.
• Tighten gradually.
• Ask if the piece may be wrong.
