Measure a Field Transition From Actual Connection Faces
Measure the real inlet and outlet faces, offsets, elevations, rotation, and available length before laying out a transition.
Stop if
- I measured [inlet], [outlet], [length], and [offsets]. Can you verify which faces are fixed before I send or cut this transition?
Watch out
- Do not measure from insulation, curb edges, or rough equipment dimensions when the actual connection face is available.
Check
- Verify both connection sizes and flange types
- Measure face-to-face length
- Record horizontal and vertical offset separately
- Check rotation and airflow direction
- Confirm access and whether either end can move
