Leaving sharp cutoffs on roof or deck
Pick up sharp cutoffs immediately and put them where they cannot slice boots, hands, roof membrane, or finished surfaces.
Stop if
- Where do you want sharp scrap staged so it does not damage the roof or hurt someone?
Watch out
- Do not leave sheet-metal scrap where someone will kneel, step, drag, or sweep into it later.
Check
- Collect offcuts as you cut.
- Separate sharp scrap from usable material.
- Do not leave metal on roof/deck/walkways.
- Protect roof membrane and finished floors.
- Tell the crew if a sharp piece is hidden or hard to retrieve.
