Layout marks hidden by other trades or ceiling work

If layout marks get hidden, re-establish them from control points instead of guessing where they were.

Stop if

• The layout marks are covered. Can we re-shoot/re-mark from control?

Watch out

• Do not drill or hang from a half-erased mark.

Check

• Find original control line/grid.
• Check photos or layout notes if available.
• Re-mark clearly.
• Protect marks if work continues.
• Tell the foreman if other trades keep covering them.
