Go back and finish the drive ends before cover-up. The ends should be secured/controlled per shop practice so the drive cannot walk loose and sharp edges are not left exposed.
Finish the drive ends so they cannot back out, cut someone, or snag insulation. Sharp tails are a punch-list and safety problem.
I have drive ends that are not folded or tabbed yet on this run. Is the fold-back method okay here, or does this job use a specific shop standard for finishing drive ends?
Watch out
Do not leave razor drive tails sticking out.
Check
Locate all drive cleat ends on the run - both the visible end you drove from and the far end where the drive stopped.
Fold or tab each end per your shop practice so it cannot back out and sharp edges are controlled.
Run your gloved hand near the folded end to confirm there is no exposed razor edge sticking out.
Check the corners where the drive end meets the S-cleat - that transition point catches gloves and insulation if it is not finished.
Do this before sealing, insulating, or covering the joint - it is very difficult to get back to after.
