How do I teach a first-year who keeps doing it wrong?

Slow down, show one step at a time, ask them to repeat the why, then watch one full rep before leaving them alone.

Stop if

• Can I show them one correct rep, have them do one while I watch, and then check back before they continue?

Watch out

• Do not just get louder, do it for them, or walk away after they failed the same step twice.

Check

• Name the mistake without roasting them.
• Show the correct sequence once slowly.
• Explain the reason in one sentence.
• Have them do it while you watch.
• Ask them to explain the check-back before repeating solo.
