Hood, Grease Duct, and Make-Up-Air Connections Do Not Align
Stop before forcing, offsetting, or field-modifying the connections. Verify the hood location and elevation, exhaust and make-up-air connection points, fan or curb orientation, approved offsets, access, and current coordination documents as one system.
The hood, grease-duct riser, and make-up-air connection do not line up. I measured all three from the same grid and elevation references and checked the current submittals. Do you want the system re-coordinated before any field offset or connection change is made?
Watch out
Do not pull the hood, duct, or equipment connection into alignment or build an unapproved offset just because the ends are close.
Check
Measure each connection from durable grid and elevation references.
Confirm the hood is installed at the approved location and height.
Check the current hood, fan, curb, and make-up-air submittals.
Document which component moved or differs from the coordinated layout.
