Hand Seamers and Tongs: Use Without Distorting the Duct
Use seamers or tongs to make controlled bends and corrections at the line-not to crush beads, flatten connectors, or stretch the whole panel.
Stop if
- This edge needs a small correction. Do you want seamers, tongs, or a brake touch-up, and which surface needs to stay flat?
Watch out
- Do not use hand seamers as a pry bar or keep squeezing until the panel oil-cans or the flange profile changes.
Check
- Choose jaw width that fits the bend
- Mark the bend line before squeezing
- Work in small even bites
- Support the panel near the correction
- Recheck square and connector fit after adjustment
