Filter access has to stay open because filters are routine maintenance. If duct, transitions, or hangers block the panel or filter pull path, fix the layout before finalizing.
Do not install duct or hangers where they block required service access.
Check
Locate the filter access panel on the unit and confirm its swing or pull direction from the cabinet label, submittal, or manufacturer drawing.
Check whether your duct run, transition, hanger rod, trapeze, or brace crosses the panel path or filter pull path.
Remember that filters are changed regularly. This is not rare service access
blocked filter access will be noticed quickly by maintenance or commissioning.
If a hanger rod is in the way, check whether it can shift while staying within approved hanger spacing, load path, and support requirements.
If the duct run itself blocks the panel or pull path, the duct elevation, transition, or routing needs to change before it is finalized.

Say this to your foreman
My duct/hanger at [location] is blocking the filter access on [unit tag]. The panel opens [direction] and I have about [measurement] clear, but the submittal shows [required clearance]. Do you want this repositioned before we finalize?
