Field route changes without RFI/approval
A field route change needs direction. If the route changes from the drawing, document it and get approval before locking it in.
Stop if
- This field route needs to change from the drawing. Do you want RFI/coordination approval before we install it?
Watch out
- Do not permanently change duct route because it seems obvious in the field.
Check
- Mark the original route and proposed change.
- Check affected access, dampers, TAB, insulation, ceiling, and other trades.
- Photo the condition.
- Ask whether RFI/coordination approval is needed.
- Record the direction given.
