Watch out

Do not slot holes, crush the flange, or use corners, bolts, drift pins, or clamps to drag a mismatched or crooked joint together.

Check

Check the duct size and connector size against the piece tag or approved shop detail.
Set the gasket on one flange face only, then bring the joining duct in supported and level.
Put the corners on the joining duct and use drift pins only to align corner holes that are already close.
Use C-clamps or locking clamps carefully to hold flange faces while hardware starts
protect the flange and gasket from clamp damage.
If the connector does not match, stop and get the correct piece or approved direction.
