Confusing connector names
Connector names get confusing because similar rectangular duct ends can use different systems. Compare the physical features before naming it.
Stop if
- Is this joint S-and-drive or TDC/Ductmate? I want to use the right connector/hardware before I assemble it.
Watch out
- Do not call every rectangular duct end the same thing or mix connector parts because they look close.
Check
- Look for bolt holes/formed rail/corner clips: likely TDC/TDF/Ductmate style.
- Look for slip/S-cleat and drive-cleat edges: likely S-and-drive.
- Check whether gasket is part of the joint.
- Use Photo ID to compare.
- Ask before mixing connector parts or sealing the wrong joint type.
