Brace angle wrong or ineffective
If a seismic brace was moved, loosened, or put back at a different angle, stop and report it. Do not “eyeball it back” and cover the work.
Stop if
- I moved/loosened this brace and I am not sure it went back to the approved angle. Can you verify it before we continue or cover it?
Watch out
- Do not hide, insulate, cover, or load work around a brace you moved until it is verified.
Check
- Stop work in that immediate area.
- Do not tighten, bend, cut, or re-angle the brace again without direction.
- Take wide and close photos showing current angle, anchor, clamp, and what was moved.
- Tell the foreman exactly what changed and wait for qualified/project direction.
