A saddle tap hole is too small and whistles

Remove the tap and open the hole to the proper internal shape. A raw lip inside the tap is an airflow restriction, not a noise you just seal over.

Do not leave a half-blocked branch takeoff and blame the air balancer.

Check

Listen/feel for whistle at the branch takeoff.
Remove the saddle if the hole size is suspect.
Check for raw metal lips protruding into the throat.
Trim and smooth the opening cleanly.
Reset saddle with approved seal and fasteners.
