A masonry opening pinches the louver frame out of square
Do not force a louver frame into a tight or crooked opening. Pull it, correct the opening or shim/support it square, then reinstall so the blades and linkage move freely.
Do not hammer or wedge a louver into an opening that is pinching the frame.
Check
Measure the rough opening at top, middle, and bottom.
Check both diagonals for out-of-square framing.
Manually test blade operation before final fastening.
Look for pinched corners or bowed side rails.
Use approved shims/clearance and do not over-tighten anchors.

Say this to your foreman
The louver opening at [location] is pinching the frame and the blades are binding. I checked the rough opening and it is out of square. Do you want masonry/framing corrected before reinstall?
