A long linear slot diffuser run looks crooked or jagged
Linear slot diffusers are finish-visible. Loosen, align with manufacturer splice/alignment hardware, square the plenum support, then tighten only after the run is straight.
Do not tighten each section independently and hope the continuous architectural line looks straight at the end.
Check
Sight down the full slot run from both directions.
Check whether the diffuser sections, plenum boxes, ceiling grid/drywall border, or hangers are causing the drift.
Use manufacturer alignment hardware/splice keys where provided.
Loosen and realign before tightening supports.
Protect finished surfaces while adjusting.

Say this to your foreman
The linear slot run at [location] looks jagged at the section joints. I checked plenum support and ceiling line. Do you want the sections loosened and re-aligned with the factory splice/alignment hardware before punch?
