A stripped rod coupling is a failed support joint. Remove the load, replace the hardware, and verify full/equal thread engagement by the approved detail.
A coupling nut only works when both rods are properly engaged. If one rod barely catches, the connection can strip under load or vibration.
Support the line first, replace stripped parts, use the correct coupling, engage both rods fully/equally, lock it against rotation, and inspect nearby long-rod extensions for the same mistake.
Use this as training guidance. Foreman direction, approved drawings, project specs, manufacturer instructions, employer safety policy, and AHJ/code requirements always control the final answer.
