What is the proper way to set a wedge anchor (drop-in) in concrete without blowing out the hole

1st YearHand Tools, Fasteners & HardwareCheck first

1. Drill the hole at a 90-degree angle to the concrete deck using the correct depth-stop on your hammer drill. 2. Blow the concrete dust completely out of the hole (dust left inside prevents the anchor from setting correctly). 3. Insert the drop-in anchor flush with or slightly below the concrete surface. 4. Insert the setting tool into the anchor and strike it hard with a hammer until the shoulder of the setting tool sits flush against the top of the anchor. **Never strike the anchor thread

Ask Foreman

Hey boss, I’m checking hand tools & safety: What is the proper way to set a wedge anchor (drop-in) in concrete without blowing out the hole? I found the likely issue and want to verify the next step before I lock it in. Do you want me to adjust it now or check the drawing/detail first?
