If test caps pop out, the holes need a pressure-appropriate permanent plug or patch. Do not leave plastic caps in a system where they cannot hold under fan speed/test pressure.
Air balance holes are supposed to be closed after testing. On higher-pressure runs, cheap snap caps or loose plugs can blow out when the fan ramps up, creating leaks and noise.
The correction is to verify the pressure class/project method and replace failed caps with approved gasketed metal test plugs, sealed screws/patch plates, or another permanent closure method. Coordinate with TAB so future readings/access are not ruined.
Use this as training guidance. The foreman, approved drawings, project specs, manufacturer installation instructions, employer safety policy, and AHJ/code requirements always control the final answer.
