1. Apply a thin base coat of mastic directly over the metal joint first. 2. Embed the fiberglass mesh scrim tape smoothly into that wet base layer using a brush or gloved hand to push out any air bubbles. 3. Apply a secondary top coat over the tape until the mesh pattern is completely filled and encapsulated.
