Use this before seismic/restraint inspection so braces are visible, locatable, and ready.
PrintableMobile-firstCopy-ready ask
Use when
Seismic brace, sway brace, equipment restraint, or structural-support inspection is coming.
First move: walk each brace by room/grid/system before the inspector arrives.
Walk it in this order
- List each brace/restraint location by room, grid, area, or system.
- Check brace direction, angle, clamps, anchors, hardware, and structural attachment visibility.
- Confirm tags/labels/detail references can be found and read.
- Look for corrosion, missing tags, blocked access, wrong attachment points, or covered brace/anchor details.
- Photo questionable items before cover or inspection.
Do not
- Do not move, re-angle, retighten, drill, or substitute brace hardware without qualified/project direction.
- Do not cover or insulate brace or anchor details before required inspection.
- Do not wait for the inspector to discover hidden brace locations.
