PrintableMobile-firstCopy-ready ask
Use when
Fire, smoke, or combination damper inspection is scheduled, or ceiling/wall closure is close.
First move: walk each damper location like the inspector will ask to see it open, visible, and documented.
Walk every damper for
- Access panel exists, opens, and is large enough to inspect/service.
- UL/listing label and damper ID are visible and not covered by mastic, tape, paint, or insulation.
- Actuator, handle, fusible link, or control side is reachable.
- Blade path is clear of screws, liner, insulation, debris, and duct edges.
- Sleeve/retaining angles/breakaway details are visible where required.
- Room/grid/location is documented with photos and punch status.
Do not
- Do not close ceiling over unknown damper access.
- Do not force painted or seized access doors without direction.
- Do not claim corrections are complete without photos/recheck when inspection is involved.
Ask it clean
Fire damper inspection is coming. Do you want me to run a damper-by-damper access/label/blade-path walk and send a punch list?
