Before you start

Lay it out

  1. Mark the exact drop location.
  2. Check the plumb line to the terminal.
  3. Keep the opening clear of hangers and devices.

Set and support it

  1. Support the main if needed.
  2. Clamp the tap flush.
  3. Provide independent drop and terminal support.

Make the connection

    Cut while controlling the cookie.

    Deburr the opening.

    Set and square the tap.

    Clamp and fasten evenly.

    Seal the perimeter.

    Connect the drop.

    Support the drop and terminal independently.

Check the install

  • The drop is plumb.
  • The main carries no terminal weight.
  • The tap is flush and sealed.
  • Access remains usable.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the terminal hang from the main.
  • Cutting into a hanger zone.
  • Using a crooked drop to pull the tap.
  • Skipping terminal support.
