- Coordinate fall protection around the open floor cut.
Tools and materials
Load-rated floor return grille, structural frame, return boot or plenum, fasteners, sealant, level, barriers, and lifting tools for the core.
Lay it out
- Mark the exact opening and frame support.
- Confirm the return path below.
- Set the finished top elevation flush to the floor.
Set and support it
- Install the structural frame before setting the grille.
- Support any duct or boot independently.
- Barricade the opening during work.
Make the connection
